Damage to Vehicles on Campus

The University assumes no responsibility or liability for loss from theft, or damage to vehicles operated or parked on campus.

In accordance with State Statues 895.46 & 893.82, damages to personal vehicles while parked in a University lot or ramp are not covered by the University's insurance unless the damage is a direct result of negligence.  Damages that are not covered include equipment malfunctions, wind, vandalism, etc.

If your vehicle is damaged (especially as a result of vandalism) contact UW Police at 264-COPS to file a report and then contact your insurance carrier.

If you have confirmation that your vehicle was damaged by a University owned vehicle, contact Risk Management at (608) 262-0375.
