Department Permits
Department permits provide parking access for UW Departments and State/Federal agencies that need "alternate locations/lots" for faculty/staff conducting business on campus in such a manner that requires them to use a Departmental vehicle or personal vehicle.

Department Limited Permit
- One permit (on hangtag) for use on multiple vehicles. The cost of the permit is equal to the lot rate.
Department Universal
Permit:
- See Department Permit Policy for lot restrictions.
- This permit cannot be used by visitors.
- This permit can only be used on vehicles that already display a valid base lot permit (department limited permit, annual base lot permit or department off-campus permit).
Department Off-Campus Permit
- This permit is for UW Departments who have addresses off-campus but need for their faculty/staff to conduct occasional business on campus.
- The Department purchases an Off-Campus Department Universal Hangtag (permit). The Off-Campus Department Universal Hangtag can be used by faculty/staff - either on a Departmental vehicle or on a variety of personal vehicles.
- See the Department Permit Policy for alternatives to buying Department Off-Campus Permits.
Department Reserved
- This provides a way for UW Departments to secure a "reserved" parking stall (24 hours/day, 7 days/week) in a specific lot/ramp with a specific stall assigned. A sign will be installed by Transportation Services restricting the use of the stall to the Department who purchases the stall.
Department
Permit Restrictions:
Department permits cannot be purchased/used by:
- UW faculty/staff in lieu of purchasing an annual base lot parking permit for their personal vehicle.
- UW faculty staff to park closer to their office than their base lot assignment.
- Department permits cannot be used for any purpose other than work-related business.
- Department permits are not valid at meters, reserved stalls, disabled stalls, loading zones, construction areas or lots being used for Special Events.
- Department permits will be issued on a space available basis as determined by Transportation Services.
- An administrative fee will be charged for replacing Department Reserved Permits and Department Limited permits reported as lost or stolen. No refunds for Department Universal and Department Universal Off-Campus Permits. Replacement for a lost/stolen Department Universal or Off Campus Universal permit is at the annual pro-rated cost. A lost/stolen permit report form must be submitted to Transportation Services.
