City Bus Service
Madison Metro is the City of Madison’s bus service with service throughout Madison and some surrounding communities.
University and authorized affiliated employees, including UW Hospital, UW Foundation, WARF, Wisconsin Alumni Association, and Wisconsin State Historical Society employees, are eligible to board Madison Metro fixed route buses and use paratransit services for free! Employees will need to show a pass and their faculty/staff or hospital identification card. Please see our Transit section for details on how the passes are distributed to employees.
As a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison you are entitled to a free city bus pass. The ASM bus pass, named after the University’s student government organization Associated Students of Madison, allows you free rides on all Madison Metro routes.
