Laptop Troubleshooting 

External Video Send Chart
Every make and model of laptop computer has a different method to perform an "External Video Send" This is a chart including most makes and models.

Problem

Solution

Laptop computer not displaying on video projector Wait a few seconds, press desired source selector again.
Press a different source, then press desired source again.
Make sure video "Mute" is not selected.
Turn off screen savers, power savers
For Macs, change screen resolution to one of the external selections, or reboot computer
Make sure cable is securely connected to your laptop
*Connecting the cable to your laptop BEFORE booting up your computer will automatically do an External Monitor Send. (For both Macs and PCs)
Check that the selected cable is connected to your laptop (If your MAC is connected to the PC cable, make sure PC is selected)
For PCs, do an External Monitor Send. (Press the LCD/CRT key on your laptop- see the chart for a complete list)
Video projector is not synching up to your laptop Adjust your laptop's screen resolution, refresh rate
Image is not centered on screen or off the screen Locate that computer's interface in the cabinet (usually gray box labeled PC or Mac) and adjust the horizontal or vertical centering. Contact Classroom Media Support if you would like assistance with this.
Computer connector cable will not plug into your laptop Contact Classroom Media Support.
