Respiratory Protection

Whenever possible, the University of Wisconsin Madison strives to engineer overexposures to air contaminants out of the workplace. However, there may be instances where this is not be practical or feasible and respiratory protection may be the sole option to keep air contaminants below their 'Permissible Exposure Limit'. Wisconsin Department of Commerce adopted OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard 29CFR §1910.134 on March 1, 1999.
