General Safety Program's Fire Extinguisher Shop is responsible for the maintenance and inspection of almost 9500 fire extinguishers on campus, at University Hospital and University Farms.

The Fire Extinguisher Shop is comprised of two Environmental Coordinators, Don Siebert and Dale Kidd. Along with inspection and maintenance of extinguishers other functions performed by the Fire Extinguisher Shop include the maintenance and inspection of fixed fire suppression systems, training in the use of hand portable fire extinguishers, surveying of new buildings and consultation concerning fire equipment needs.
